The Greene County board of supervisors re-elected John Muir and Guy Richardson to serve as chairman and vice chair in 2015. The board met Friday, Jan. 2, to handle organizational business to begin the new calendar year.
Prior to the call to order, Judge Bill Ostlund (left) administered the oath of office to county officials elected in November and starting new terms. The supervisors will continue to hold their regular meetings Mondays beginning at 8:30 am. They will meet on Tuesdays following Monday holidays. Other regular meetings, if needed, will be held on Thursdays at 8:30 am.
Courthouse hours will remain 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. County offices will be closed for the following holidays: President’s Day, Monday, Feb. 16; Memorial Day, Monday, May 25; Independence Day, Friday, July 3; Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7; Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11; Thanksgiving, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 26 and 27; Christmas, Thursday and Friday, Dec. 24 and 25; and New Year’s Day, Friday, Jan. 1, 2016.
The Scranton Journal and The Jefferson Herald were selected as official newspapers.
